BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
APAG Photographic Artists Degree (Ph. A.) - The APAG Degree is awarded to members by the American Photographic Artists Guild to recognize outstanding skill in the photographic arts. The Applicant must have earned at least 15 PPA Exhibition Specialist (ART TECH) merits. Those members earning the APAG Degree receive the APAG Medallion and my use the Ph.A. following their name.
PRINT COMPETITION
The American Photographic Artists Guild is dedicated to the advancement of each member’s talents to the highest level. It encourages its member to enter PPA regional and national competitions where works are judged and scored by a panel of qualified judges. Electronic Imaging merits may be earned at these competitions as well as the Annual APAG competition and are the basis of earning some APAG degrees.
PPA Merits
You can earn PPA merits by attending or subscribing to our specialize classes taught by the industry's leading professionals. Learn from the best artist and photographers around. These classes and skills will not be available to any other organization, this is because of our dynamic specialty focus.
Degrees
In order to earn any degree the applicant must have been a member of APAG for at least 36 consecutive months.The annual APAG print competition is still accepting traditional artist entries including negative retouching as well as all current digital imaging. This Photoshop of all levels, Painter, and custom art with a focus on photography.
APAG Laurel Degree (Ph. A. L.) -
The Laurel Degree is the highest, most coveted degree awarded by APAG. This is awarded to members having already earned their APAG Degree. A paper and portfolio of the artist’s work must be submitted to a jury of peers. Laurel Degree recipients will receive the Laurel Wreath to added to their APAG medallion and use Ph.A.L. after their name.
An application for the APAG Degree and the Laurel Degree will be sent upon request. Contact the President or any board member of APAG.

This publication of the APAG is filled with how-to articles and industry news. The e-Palette Page is emailed to the members that have active email addresses. This newsletter is published once a month. "The Palette Page" alone is worth the cost of your membership dues!
